Brian, Kate & Teddy | Little Family, Big Love

A wedding should be truly individual and personal to the couple. This is very true of this intimate winter wedding for Brian, Kate and Teddy at the Durry Buildings in Dublin.

Gorgeous stationery was always important to me, so in Antonella, of MAGVA Design + Letterpress, I met a kindred spirit. She designed and printed perfect menus, place cards and mood signage – all expressing our design aesthetic and personality, using textural cotton paper and showing the most expert artisanal skill.” – BASH (Image Brides) Vol. 3

BASH Vol. 3 words from Kate O'Dowd

It is hard to believe that three months have passed since I anxiously awaited the arrival of BASH Vol. 3. Not only is it one of my favourite wedding magazines, but this issue featured a wedding which I hand printed letterpress wedding stationery for.

It all started in late November 2013 one Saturday afternoon when Kate contacted me about creating a bespoke stationery suite and mood signage for her day. I certainly wasn’t going to say no to the editor of Irelands newest wedding magazine – BASH.

After some consultation with Kate, I created a letterpress suite that was raw and edgy and embodied bold masculine typographic elements that complemented the juxtaposed style that was envisaged for the day. The stationery was dispersed over the three floors of the Drury Buildings and included, individually letterpressed name tags, menu’s, mood signage, coasters and a small poster. The usage of yellow was influenced by a book that belonged to Kate’s grandmother and the slate grey was an appropriate choice for a striking contrast.

There is so much more I could write about Brian, Kate & Teddy’s special day or the amazing suppliers that were involved, but I could not capture it in my own words. So if you haven’t already, track down an issue of BASH (Image Brides) Vol. 3, check out the video of the day from BigDayFilms, or pop over to the spectacular blog post on white tea’s website to be amazed.

Thank you Brian, Kate & Teddy
